The Importance of Being Earnest
by: Oscar Wilde
Director: Dan Crozier
Costume Designer: Uriel Gomez
This was the costume design for the character of Cecily from the play, The Importance of Being Earnest. This design was part of my senior thesis at Allegheny College. I designed all the costumes for this show and over saw the process of construction alongside the costume shop supervisor.
Cecily's costumes is the one costume that I personally worked on from beginning to end. I started off with an initial rendering which I presented to the director, once we decided on a look and style I proceeded to make a final rendering. From there I draped out the dress on a dress form and made a mock up. From there I did a muslin fitting, took notes and then made the final dress for the show.
